Update for the Week of January 16th

  • Production was updated yesterday evening, January 19th. This update includes:
    • Corrected an issue that allowed users to upload prerequisites before completing registration.
    • Clarified labels in the system and expanded some data tables including LMS Logs, Watchlist, External Course Submissions, and Payment Posting.
    • Provided Instructors additional access to manage attendance, view courses details, and email the roster
    • Updated instance copy to include waitlist data when copied, which also corrected an issue where if you copied an instance with a waitlist, you received an error upon saving.
    • Course Admins can no longer make a course inactive if there are active instances
    • When you mark a participant as completed for classroom training, the date of the course is now recorded as the completion date, instead of the date marked
    • Added ability to download external course submissions after responding to them
    • Added location to payment summary
    • Corrected an issue that prevented Affiliate Managers from creating and adding members at the same time
    • Added option for Course Admin to dictate whether ‘Pay Later’ is an option on their instance
    • You can no longer add yourself to the waitlist of a course for which you do not meet the prerequisites
    • Added export button to LMS Logs
    • Corrected an issue that prevented some users from exporting detailed rosters
  • The development team is continuing to work on the issue surrounding the anonymous cart. Currently, if users who are not logged in put courses in their cart and then log in through Shibboleth, the items in their cart are lost. This issue does not affect external users who are not logging in with their Unity ID.
    • The development team has a candidate build with a fix for this issue. The fix will be tested this weekend and put into production on Sunday if successful.
  • Security updates have been made to the Production Issues Log. This spreadsheet will now be used by the development team and project coordinators. For all future Production Issues and feedback items, please use the appropriate spreadsheet linked below to provide feedback. These spreadsheets will be monitored by the respective project coordinators and sent to development.
  • The REPORTER team will be offering open help sessions in which users can receive one-on-one help with REPORTER and have specific questions answered. Administrators in the system are invited to drop by anytime during the session or to call in remotely via a link published to the support site. The next session will be held January 18th.
  • Upcoming Training Opportunities; Seating is limited and setup is done prior to training so you are required to register prior to the course’s start date. Be sure to add yourself to the watchlist of courses you are interested in. This will show instructors there is interest in the course and you receive an email notification when a new instance is posted.
    • View training course details here: https://support.reporter.ncsu.edu/training/. If you need a course that is not available per your schedule, please contact reporter_support@ncsu.edu to request additional dates.

  • NC State University will be performing extensive system maintenance February 4th – 5th. This maintenance period may cause intermittent availability of Shibboleth Login. As a result, users logging in with a Unity ID may experience difficulty logging in during this time. The maintenance should not impact external users. NC State WordPress websites may also become unavailable intermittently during this time, so please anticipate that our support site may be temporarily inaccessible that weekend.
